Frequently Asked Questions

Miss Saigon at the Sydney Opera House commences performances on 17 August 2023. This page features frequently asked questions regarding ticketing.

When do tickets go on sale?

Tickets for Miss Saigon go on sale to the general public on Monday 20 March 2023 at 10am.

To secure your tickets before the general public, you can join our waitlist to purchase tickets during the Opera Australia pre-sale, commencing on 13 March 2023.

How much do tickets cost?

Tickets start from $75 (plus booking fee) with a range of prices available. Ticket prices vary according to seat location and the performance time.

How will the pre-sale work?

The Opera Australia pre-sale is an opportunity to secure tickets to Miss Saigon before they go on sale to the general public. The pre-sale begins on Monday 13 March at 11am AEST and finishes on Sunday 19 March at 11:59pm.

If you have signed up for our waitlist, you will receive an email to the pre-sale, with a link that will allow you to purchase tickets from 11am. When you click on this link, you may be placed in a virtual waiting room before you can purchase your tickets. This waiting room ensures that our website can cope with the demand for tickets and allows for fair access.

When it is your turn, you will have 30 minutes to begin purchasing tickets on our website. You may wish to enter your email on the virtual waiting room page to receive a notification when it's your turn (although please note: this email may end up in your spam folder).

We expect waiting times to be the longest on 13 March, decreasing in the days following. If you experience significant technical difficulties with the waiting room, you may wish to return to the website (via the pre-sale link we email to you) later during the pre-sale. We expect to have good seating availability across the pre-sale period.

How long will I be in the waiting room?

This will depend on both your position in the queue and the demand. We do expect demand to be quite high, and you may have to wait several hours until it is your turn. If you do not wish to spend time in the virtual waiting room, you can return later during the pre-sale period, when we expect waiting times to have decreased.

Alternatively, you can select 'Hold For Collection' and your tickets will be available for collection at the venue box office from 90 minutes prior to the performance. Please have I.D. available when quoting your name at the box office.

If you do not have your tickets within 24 hours of your performance, please contact our box office.

Who are the official ticketing agents?

Please purchase your tickets through authorised ticket sellers.

Opera Australia is the primary ticket seller for Miss Saigon. We have also authorised other ticket sellers (including Sydney Opera House, Ticketmaster, TodayTix).

Opera Australia will cancel any tickets that we can identify have been purchased through unauthorised sellers for more than 10% above their original cost. Unauthorised sellers include but are not limited to Viagogo, Tickets Australia, Ticket Merchant, Ticket Blaster, TicketBis, Ticketmaster Resale, Queen of Tickets, eBay or Gumtree.

If you attend an event with such a ticket, we will not admit you into the venue. We will also void forged and fraudulent tickets (for example, where multiple copies have been made of the same tickets).

There are an increasing number of unauthorised ticket resellers operating online. We don’t want anyone to have a nasty surprise, so if you have any questions or concerns about the validity of your tickets or the authorisation of your ticket seller, please contact us on 02 9318 8200 or email customerservice@opera.org.au.

You can also find detailed information about unauthorised ticket sales on the NSW Fair Trading website.
